This trip with #DoAC was part of a project sponsored by Socialstars by Crowdtap. All opinions are my own.

In need of a mini vacation? To get away from the hustle and bustle of the city, I took a weekend getaway to Atlantic City. The weather was perfect, and since I don’t like to chances on gambling my money away, I discovered a few things to do while enjoying the sun and relaxing for the long weekend. If you decide to go for a few days, here are a few of my favorite activities for you and yours.

1. Stop and stay at Harrah’s Resort & Casino

Sexy is an understatement. You’re in a big glass dome with palm trees, cabanas, beds and beach chairs with bars surrounding you. The place is pure bliss, and if you’re there on a weekend, the night parties are probably the best the city has to offer.

The room is quite comfy too. Cushy, memory-foam beds with crisp sheets and an awesome bathroom.

2. Sit back and enjoy the sunset.

Stillness, serenity and a gorgeous sunset – golden hour out here is beautiful I had to take the time out to sit back and soak in the view.

3. Fill up at Dos Caminos

The margaritas, tacos and open-face quesadillas are some of the best I’ve had. The guacamole is out of this world. Try it with bacon. Good, solid food and great service plus an awesome view of the water.

4. Obviously, head over to the Boardwalk for the beach and the carnival.

I could stroll the Boardwalk for hours, going in and out of shops but the carnival on the Steel Pier had me feeling like a kid again.

No matter where you are, carousels are always great for cheering you up.

And then there’s the beach. Swim or sand sculpt, it’s up to you.

Just so happened that the DO AC Sand Sculpting World Cup was taking place. I couldn’t believe how ornate some of these sculptures were – there was so much dimension and emotion pouring out of the artists’ works.

5. Snack on late-night seafood and sip summer cocktails at Chickie’s and Pete’s.

Dear Chickie’s and Pete’s, you guys make one hell of a Summer Cocktail. Fresh strawberries, gin, light soda and mint – obviously the most refreshing thing ever created. Situated right on the boardwalk as part of the Tropicana Hotel & Resort, this spot was the perfect late-night snacking spot.

… if you consider lobster tails and jumbo lump crabcakes as snacks.

Most people that ask me about Atlantic City ask how much money I won… or lost. I didn’t gamble this time around (I’m not quite good at stopping something once I get started, which can be completely life-ruining at a casino), but there’s just so much more to do here than just gamble. I hope you enjoyed the photos and will be inspired to check out some of the places mentioned above. The people are kind, the weather is warm and the hospitality is awesome.

Cheers, and thank you so much for reading!

With love, Jinna

Great post! I would add morning coffee on the beach, before any of the crowds get there. A very different way of experiencing AC at that time of day.

That. Sounds. Wonderful. The boardwalk was pretty crowded but yes, a morning coffee would have been perfect!

heading to atlantic city for a couple days, and remembered seeing this guide awhile back – so I just searched it up, haha! I’m definitely planning to seek out a sunset / sunrise and also the carnival on the boardwalk 😉
