After receiving a few questions about my hair on instagram, I thought I’d make a video to show you guys (err, girls) my VERY low maintenance hair routine. Since I try to pack really light, I can’t take a whole bunch of hair products with me.

Travel Hair Routine | with AG Hair Smoothing Balm

Besides carry-on size shampoo and conditioner, I only take two things with me:

1) A curling iron
2) AG Hair Smoothing Balm

And that’s pretty much it!

I’m actually really low maintenance when it comes to my hair, but I still want to look somewhat presentable while on the road. You obviously can’t fit a hair salon into your suitcase (i.e. hairspray, mousse, leave-in conditioner, blowdryer, etc.) when you’re traveling around constantly. I don’t ever pack a hairdryer because it’s heavy and takes up way too much space. Most hotels also usually have one available, but air drying your hair, although time-consuming, is just as efficient. 🙂 My hair also gets really frizzy after washing it, my baby hairs stand straight up and I look like I just got electrocuted. I’ve tried oil and leave-in conditioner but I hate how greasy my hair feels afterwards. The team at AG Hair sent me their brand new Smoothing Balm to try out, and it’s the only thing I take with me while I’m traveling. It’s lightweight, not greasy, seals down my frizz, comes in a 2 oz. container that’s carry-on friendly, and a portion of every bottle sold goes towards educating underprivileged girls in Africa.

Here’s the video. Watch if you’d like!

Thanks so much for reading + watching. Any other questions about travel necessities? Leave a comment below and I’ll do my best to make more videos for you! 🙂

With love, Jinna

Wow, I wouldn’t be able to pull that in less than 20min. My curling iron and me have a love-hate-relationship. Sadly. Anyway, great post! And this smoothing balm sure does its work.

Thanks for sharing this!! I’m leaving for a 3-week trip to Europe in a few days + just ordered this smoothing balm. Going to try and recreate your routine – so simple and it looks great! What shampoo and conditioner do you bring with you?
