It’s happened to the best of us — indulging in what we think is authentic Italian cuisine only to find out that it’s simply a fancier, once-frozen version of it. That’s why I skipped the overrated tourist traps, hopped on an Eating Italy Food Tour, and headed straight to Testaccio, the original foodie neighborhood of Rome — birthplace of “cuisine romana” and dubbed by the locals as the “Heart of Rome.”
