It’s 2015 dolls, and with a new year comes new destinations, new adventures, new relationships, new goals and new habits – specifically skincare habits.

Skincare has always been something I took very seriously – I’ve got loads of serums, moisturizers, eye creams – all with which I pile on to keep my face moisturized. It’s a bit trickier when you’re traveling to take all of these bottles and jars with you – it weighs you down and bulks up your bag, but if I don’t bring all of these products with me, my face ends up so dry it hurts to smile sometimes.

Bare Minerals Complexion Rescue

So when the team over at Bare Minerals sent me this Complexion Rescue tinted hydration gel cream, I was a bit hesitant at first. Would this work for me? Match my skin tone? How dark is it? Do I need to put on loads of layers? What is the coverage like? I know sunscreen is so essential to preventing wrinkles and uneven skin tone, but if I don’t slather on deep moisturizer beforehand, it makes my face feel chalky and dry again. Would this do the same thing to me?

But this stuff is made to moisturize your skin, give you buildable coverage to even out your skin tone, and provide SPF protection. One product vs. Three products. Done.

And at only 1.18 fl oz., this little baby will fit right in my carry-on. TSA-friendly.

So I’ll be putting this on every morning underneath my loose powder (which also happens to be Bare Minerals, ironically) and everyday makeup regimen. No more of this multi-bottle, multi-product madness. Just one, and done.

P.S. Bare Minerals Complexion Rescue comes in 10 shades (I wear Ginger, #06), and is priced at $29. I use the Smoothing Face Brush ($28) to apply. Head on over to to try it.

So my main 2015 goal was to pack and live lighter. What are some of your 2015 goals?

  • Brilliant post!

What program did you use to pull the gifs out of the video?

I’m definitely going to give this product a try. I’ve always shied away from Bare Minerals because I was worried it wouldn’t be good enough coverage. I think you might have convinced me otherwise.

    Have a lovely weekend!!

  • Chantelle Paige

Great post! I’ll have to try this out…. and you’re too cute!!!!

I’m new to the world of blogging and would absolutely love any feedback you’re willing to give 😀

Love your blog and appreciate any help/recommendations!

love the GIFs so freakin cute.

  • Well now I know what I’m getting next time I’m shopping x.

  • Skincare is something I still unfortunately neglect, and it shows, haha. I get acne every now and then, and when I was in a fashion show, the make-up artist kept on commenting that my face was so dry. I’ll definitely keep this post in mind for future reference.

  • This is something I would love to get my hands on! Unfortunately living in Slovakia means online search. Ehh.

By the way, you look stunning 🙂

  • The complexion rescue looks amazing on you! You look gorgeous. xo-Jane
